The Event Horizon Telescope Image of the Quasar NRAO 530

We report on the observations of quasar NRAO 530 with Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) 2017 April 5-7, when was used as a calibrator for EHT Sagittarius A*. At z=0.902 this is most distant object imaged by so far. reconstruct first images source at 230 GHz, an unprecedented angular resolution $\sim$ 20 $\mu$as, both in total intensity and linear polarization. do not detect variability, allowing us to represent whole data set static images. The reveal bright feature located southern end jet, which we associate core. linearly polarized, fractional polarization $\sim$5-8% has sub-structure consisting two components. Their observed brightness temperature suggests that energy density jet dominated magnetic field. extends over 60 $\mu$as along position angle PA$\sim -$28$^\circ$. It includes features orthogonal directions (electric vector angle, EVPA), parallel perpendicular axis, consistent helical structure field jet. outermost particularly high degree polarization, suggestive nearly uniform Future will probe variability ${\mu}$as scales, while simultaneous multi-wavelength monitoring provide insight into emission origin.
